Tammentila Oy is a small family business that focuses mainly on organic grain production. Sustainability is an important part of the farm's operations. In addition to solar panels, Tammentila has its own wind turbine.

Electricity consumption and production not matching

At Tammentila, both electricity consumption and production have been very uneven and have not always matched. In this case, the power-based demand charges were easily increased. What’s more, the locally generated renewable energy had to be sold to the grid for too low a price. The vulnerability of the electrical grid and the resulting blackouts have also been a headache.
